Dolomites |
World's most beautiful mountains Back in 2009, Dolomites have become part of the prestigious list of UNESCO world natural heritage. Not only UNESCO has been touched by the enchanting beauty of Dolomites, but also the great poet Goethe, the famous climber Reinhold Messner, the writer Mario Rigoni Stern and the architect Le Corbusier. Mighty and indented peaks, unique colours that change throughout the day. The sunset paints the Dolomites with a really intense red that turns into a violet before the rising of the dark: this phenomenon is called Enrosadira and it is particularly sharpened by the chemical composition of dolomite rock. A natural miracle with no comparison. Among the 142.000 hectares under protection, there are also the Fanes-Sennes-Prags and the Puez-Geisler (with its mighty Sass de Putia) nature parks. |
